Even as a toddler I noticed the infamous reused animation Robin Hood kept using from The Jungle Book, with Kaa/Sir Hiss, the vultures and Baloo/Little John (including the bears' voices). Like any kid growing up to do art, Disney movies were always a HUGE influence for my drawing skills, and among them, watching The Jungle Book and Robin Hood was probably the very first time in my life that I started to notice similarities between two different pieces of media. Usually when some random kid draws a really good picture adults are impressed by, they usually tell that kid "You should work at Disney when you grow up!" Well, I may be grown up, and even though I don't work at Disney, I could definitely see why someone would say that when they see something like what I made here. Sheriff of Nottingham: Eh-heh heh heh heh, well ain't that just too cute? The kid thinks he knows what's lawful and what ain't! (Mowgli just scowls while the Sheriff mockingly points his finger on the man-cub's hair) Lissen here, sonny: ya put me in a good mood today, so Imma just gonna letcha off with a warning: keep that there button nose of yers outta where it don't belong and nobody'll git hurt, capisce? : Hey, you big bully! Don't you know the law of the jungle says to only take what you need? You better give that treasure back to that family or you'll be sorry! Meanwhile on the bottom picture, Mowgli calls out the Sheriff of Nottingham for one of his many taxations on the poor people. Lady Kluck: Oo-hoho! He's just an adorable wee little laddie! I just want to dip him in my tea! Lady Kluck's pretty much pinching Mowgli's cheeks at how adorable he looks in the top drawing. We got a double depiction of Mowgli from The Jungle Book encountering Lady Kluck and the Sheriff of Nottingham from Robin Hood, each one dealing with the loinclothed man-cub in their own manner. Whatever comes forth in the future, Uncle PTM promises to keep on keepin' on throughout, and I hope I can hone my skills even better! I really do mean it when I say just by sharing the same love of movies, books, cartoons, video games, music or any other media I do that most other 30-something people would grow out of, you make me happy and proud to do what I do. It really is hard to believe I could be where I am today on the internet thanks to the people who've bothered to give me at least a sideways glance, and I really want to say how grateful I am to all of you for helping me get this far. 365 deviations, more than 430 watchers, a well-below level of internet toxicity on the site uncommon on most other social media, giving attention to users that really impress me, and now, here we are. 10 whole years of sharing my artistic potential on DeviantArt, and it's all come to this.
